The Sandy City Police Department Records Division is open to the public Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and is closed on weekends and holidays.
Copies of police reports and traffic accident reports are released in accordance with the Utah Government Records Access Management Act (GRAMA). You must provide valid Government issue picture ID ie; Utah Drivers License, Utah State ID Card, Passport, etc.
There is a fee for copies of these reports. Victims of Domestic Violence may obtain one free copy of their Domestic Violence report according to Utah State Law. We accept cash, check, debit or credit cards (with the Visa Logo), as form of payment.
A Utah Criminal History background check, also called "Right of Access", often requested by a potential employer can be obtained. You must come to the Sandy City Police Department Records Division for this service. You must also be the record subject and show Government Issue Picture ID.
A "Letter of Good Conduct" is a local Sandy City background check and is often requested by persons obtaining a VISA for foreign travel including Business or Missionary Travel. You must be, or have been a Sandy City resident to request this information. You must be the record subject and show Government Issue Picture ID. A records check will be performed of criminal cases occurring in Sandy City only. If any criminal cases are found, they will need to be expunged before a "Letter of Good Conduct" will be issued.
Visit the Sandy City Police Department Records Division during normal business hours, fill out the request form, present your valid picture identification and pay the appropriate fee.

The Sandy City Police Department provides fingerprinting as a service to the public on Tuesdays from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and Fridays from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
You must present valid picture identification at the time of fingerprinting.
The department charges a nominal fee of $10.00 for the first card and $1.00 for each additional card, payable at the time of fingerprinting. Fingerprint cards will be furnished.
We now accept all forms of payment for this service.
To help ensure that residential neighborhood streets are not being congested by those attending events at the Rio Tinto Stadium, Eligible residents can now obtain a Parking Permit to park personal vehicles on neighborhood streets during event times.
Who is Eligible?
Residents living within the designated neighborhoods are eligible for up to two permits per household. Application for the permit will be made through the Sandy City Police Department and are offered at No Cost. The permits will be issued on an annual basis to eligible residents. At the time of application, please provide the following:
- Applicants name and address
- Current Drivers License, Utility Bill, or Property Tax Statement
Note: Any vehicle parked on the street must be licensed and registered

Enforcement will occur on Rio Tinto event days only.
